Similar diseases that feel like cystitis are tuberculosis of the bladder, inflammation of the bladder cancer, kidney stones, endometriosis, mild urinary tract infections, chronic prostate infections, and sexually transmitted diseases. To identify whether a person is suffering from this disease, the doctor is supposed to take a history and do a physical examination of the pelvic, bladder and kidney areas, along with tests like urinalysis, cystoscopy, urine culture, bladder wall biopsy, and an examination of the secretions of the male prostate gland. Among these, the cystoscopy is the most important test as the doctor can see ulcerations of the bladder wall, thereby confirming the ailment.

Now, the question is how to overcome this disease?

As various researches are being carried out to overcome Interstitial Cystitis, yet the result is unknown to us. No such medicine is available yet, which can assure to relief from this disease.
